Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe came from a multi-cultural family. Born in South London. Her mother and father have both been English. She was raised in a south London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age 14. The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained an acting BA. She was a part of various performances on stage during her school days, including the stage productions King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe launched her acting career with the film Storm Damage. Since then, she's been a guest star in Teachers, Doctors, Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), alongside Colin Farrell. In the following year she was cast as Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she was a part of Trexx as Ollie and six episodes in Flipside. In 2008, Madekwe landed Bambi who was the leading character on ITV2's comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was a part of the comedy feature film How to Lose Friends & Affect People. Her credits in theatre are Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe debuted in the US in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama program ran in the US on The CW for only two episodes, before it was removed from the air. Ashley Davenport was her role in the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe appeared in all episodes of the show's initial two seasons as a regular. In May 2013, the news broke that Madekwe will quit the show due to her appearance as a guest on the opening episode for its third season. Madekwe starred as Tituba in the TV show Salem between 2014 and the year 2016. In June 2012, she was married to her long-time love, actor Iddo Goldberg. They have worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl and he also played a part with her in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for a Gemini Award, is a member of an extensive Hamilton family. Her family included both parents Roy and Patty along with four of their older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's brothers, who were each of them extremely active, took part in hockey during the winters and baseball in the summers, meaning that she grew up playing in parks and arenas. Ashley did not have the ability to walk, however she did dance. When she turned two-and-a-half she took up Baby Ballet and fell in the love. Ashley fell in love with dancing at the age of. Ashley continued to perform competitively throughout high school at the top levels of competitions, such as tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Acrobatics, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and more. She also won the top awards for soloists in every major dance contests, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
